In 1925 Gorden and Grace Braun, of Kitchener, Ontario, bought a business that sold and repaired bicycles and other assorted items. They buckled down to work and soon developed two very important business principles, "Treat your customer as you would want to be treated," and "Always put God first in your life and business." Little could they imagine then, that 86 years later their business would still carry on this heritage, pleasing some of the same families, 3 or 4 generations later, by maintaining the same principles.

Today, Braun's ...is BICYCLES is located in both Guelph and Kitchener, in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. The original location in Kitchener -- Braun's 16,000 square foot Superstore -- is still located within a block of where it all started. Departments include Bicycles, Specialty Bicycles, Fitness Equipment, Car Racks, Accessories, Clothing, Eye Wear, Health Products, Pro Shop Parts and Components and Repairs & Maintenance. We have the privilege of having some of the best staff on our team of bicycle industry specialists.

Braun's Online is the online version of "Braun's ...is BICYCLES". Our online store continues the 1925 Braun tradition of quality, integrity and superior service that originated with the founding Brauns in 1925. Brauns continues to lead the cycling/fitness industries.

Past Developments

Brauns created the ever popular Club Tread™ in 1994. There are currently more than 10,000 members enjoying Dividend credits earned on every eligible purchase, plus the members-only monthly specials of up to 50% off. Never pay full price again. Free Membership. Each November Members receive a dividend certificate of their prior year's purchases.

"The Club Tread Reports." A Free Journal and informative periodical on topics of interest such as Tech Tips, Product Reviews, "Touring with Brauns" Club News, Up coming specials, and the monthly Club specials, to name a few. Copies are available on-line for your review.

1994 saw the "Touring with Braun's Club." Under the experienced direction of the club executive and their team of dedicated volunteers, this group had grown from 40 enthusiats in 1994, to more than 200 in 1998. The club toured each Tuesday evening from May till September on courses which have been predefined for the entire season. There are "Fast Groups" and "Casual Groups" each tour. In 2005, due to growth opportunities in other areas of the business, we no longer operate this club.

In 1995 Brauns launched their first web site called Spokes Plus. Then in January 1996 two more sites where developed. Club Tread Monthly Specials and The Club Tread Report were developed. Then by mid May 1996, Brauns Online (now our main site) was launched. We have been continually adding and improving this site to where we needed a better architecture. Thus in July 1997 we have launched the New Brauns Online site with many enhancements, features and products.

After having hundreds of customers a year travel from Guelph to our Kitchener store, in 2004 Braun's expanded to the Guelph market directly by bringing a local long running bicycle store into the Braun family. Braun's now has a local presence. Guelph is a great city to be located in.

Recently, Braun's grew again by expanding into Cambridge for our third Retail Store & Service Centre.

Over 86 years later the story is still being written.
